Super Bowl Sunday should be a national holiday with Monday being a day off for rest and coming out of the comatose state from good food, football and friends.
When I lived in Mt. Pleasant, I would hold a Super Bowl party every year at the house I lived in. We would have between eight and twenty people show up at any given time. We didn't do the corny Christian thing by skipping the commercials, we didn't show an outreach film to the unsaved people coming at halftime, we simply enjoyed the atmosphere and friendships everyone had with one another.
So here was a typical menu for my Super Bowl party:
- 3 lbs of sloppy joes (my special recipe) do not skimp and get the cheap buns, they fall apart and are unable to hold the girth
- potato chips
- taco dip or seven-layer dip
- veggies & fruit (only because my nutritionist says you should and they do taste good)
- nachos
- cupcakes
Some other additions I would love to make are:
- chili
- brats
- rice krispie treats
- of course more fruits & veggies
Which brings us to the most important topic: Who is going to win? Colts or Saints?
My prediction is: Colts over the Saints 37-31
Who do you think is going to win and what other things to do bring to a Super Bowl party? Comment below.

man, i haven't had sloppy joe's in forever... i'm going to definitely have some this weekend, thanks to this post.
Colts over Saints.
27-13.
(i started out this week thinking it was going to be close - and i would still be excited if the Saints won) but the more i think about it, the more i think the Colts are a much, much better team.

I haven't had sloppy joes in forever, either. And forever's not nearly long enough. *barf* I do, however, give you bonus points for using the word "girth" to describe your sloppy joes.

I like the Saints because the design on their helmets is pretty.
