Doing, doing, doing. Evangelicals are always doing.
This is my first foray into the Evangelical church and coming from the Charismatic side of things where it seems more inclusive (prayer meetings, worship nights, get your butt to the church), Evangelicals love social justice projects.
One blogger today is raising $30,000 for a Vietnamese school, my church is handing out sleeping bags to homeless teens, at the Catalyst conference, it appeared that it was social justice overload. There are some people who live for social justice projects.
I guess what I am saying is, it's a little overwhelming and I wonder if it is a little out of balance?
Of course, you can never help enough, you can never do enough and you can never give enough.
It seems like Evangelical churches put a lot of focus on community and helping others. Charismatic churches tend to put more emphasis on prayer, worship and getting closer to God.
There has to be a semblance of balance somewhere along the line.
I think.
So neither is right or wrong. I am just wondering. That's all.

Perhaps they are two tires of the same bicycle.
